Dead Man's Cell Phone
April 2010
An incessantly ringing cell phone in a quiet café. A stranger at the next table who has had enough. And a dead man – with a lot of loose ends. This wildly imaginative new comedy from MacArthur "Genius" Grant recipient and Pulitzer Prize finalist, Sarah Ruhl, will amuse, delight and move you. A work about how we memorialize the dead – and how that remembering changes us – it is the odyssey of a woman forced to confront her own assumptions about morality, redemption and the need to connect in a technologically obsessed world.

The Woman in Black
October 2009
Eel Marsh House is a foreboding sight on England's desolate East Coast. Here Alice
Drablow lived – and died – alone. Arthur Kipps has been sent by his firm to sort through
the mountain of papers Ms. Drablow collected in her long, solitary life. It isn't until he
begins catching glimpses of a spectre with a wasted face that he comes to know the
true horrors of Eel Marsh House, and of the terrible curse the befalls anyone who sees
the woman in black.
This pulse-pounding, spine-chilling stage adaptation of Susan Hill's classic ghost story
has been terrifying audiences in London's West End for over 20 years, and now it ar
rives in the Northland ... just in time for Halloween.

Dink Tank After School Special
October 2009
DINK TANK is the Northland's only resident sketch comedy team. This group of local artists meet regularly in a cramped, sweaty room and aren't allowed to use the bathroom until they've written something funny. The writers then pair with some of the area's finest comedic performers to present smart, edgy sketch comedy that skewers politics and pop culture while creating memorable recurring characters and hysterical observational comedy that runs the gamut from the crass and crude to the subversive and sarcastic. Owing huge debts to groups like The Kids In The Hall, Upright Citizen's Brigade, and Saturday Night Live, DINK TANK creates uproarious sketch comedy that is bold, bright, and a little bit bawdy. Shows contain extremely adult situations and language.

A New Brain
August 2009
Gordon Schwinn is a composer for a small-time children’s show with dreams of being a big-time composer
on Broadway. Currently standing in his way is a lack of ambition, a serious case of writer’s block, and some
fluid in his brain that’s trying to kill him. As family and friends flock to his bedside and his potentially fatal
surgery looms over him, Gordon racks his ailing brain for a song that might live on after he’s gone.
Packed with show-stopping numbers by two-time Tony Award winner William Finn, this funny, touching
and powerful musical played to packed houses in its Lincoln Center debut, and will move audiences with its
powerful themes of hope, faith and the healing power of music.

Matt & Ben
June 2009
It's 1995, and Matt Damon and Ben Affleck are just a pair of struggling actors, trying to catch their big break by writing a film adaptation of Catcher in the Rye. Things aren't going well, and just when all hope seems lost, the script for Good Will Hunting falls out of the sky - literally. As the boys decide whether or not to take credit for this cinematic masterpiece, their friendship is tested as old grudges resurace. Visits from J.D. Salinger and Gwyneth Paltrow don't exactly help, either.

Wonder of the World
February 2009
Cass discovers a secret in her husband's sweater drawer so shocking that she has no choice but to leave him, taking only a suitcase and a list of things she’s always wanted to do. At the top of the list, a visit to Niagara Falls, where she begins a frantic search for the life she missed out on. Along the way she finds a sidekick in a blithely suicidal alcoholic, finds romance with a lonely tour-boat captain, and tries to avoid a pair of bickering private detectives who’ve been sent by her husband to bring her home. Written by Pulitzer Prize winner David Lindsey-Abaire, this uproariously funny and surprisingly moving story of one woman’s quest for fulfillment was called “A fresh and hilarious tragicomedy of marital discord run amok” by Variety.
